When I see people looking to buy a house in Aldea, I make sure to warn them.
The workers who come here are like animals...leaving cigarette butts, nails, sharp chicken bones. banana peels, empty mini booze bottles...endless litter. They scream and shout, they have absolutely no concern for the people subjected to their noisy dusty projects that are sometimes so loud, I have to leave my home. As I try to leave, I hope they haven't completely blocked our only access with their giant stinky diesel trucks. None of the people involved in these projects on Arroyo Privado in Aldea should ever get another permit or job in construction. I hope they are fined out of business. Non-profit menace is what you are!
Homewise is great at helping people get homes. However once you have purchased a home from them they are done with you. THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY! With classes and helpful staff allowed me to purchase a house. Definitely the was to purchase a house in Santa Fe!
This is an extremely careless company that brazenly ignores the law, and basic human decency. I think these are the people responsible for destroying living conditions in Aldea. This is the second time the porta pottie across the street fell over. It could fall on an innocent resident next time!
Homewise is a fantastic organization! We've been working with them for 9 years and have a wonderful house in Aldea. They provided excellent finance education about home buying BEFORE they contract with you, to prevent any possibility of foreclosure. They have helped us with a spigot issue from the original build, and helped us solarize our home. They are advising us on refinance options now. They have enabled us and so many people like us to be able to continue living and working in Santa Fe. Without Homewise, Santa Fe would be an extremely divided city with no middle class living here-- just the very poor and very rich, which is a recipe for social tension and increased problems. Homewise allows an affordable situation for teachers, technicians, small business owners, and general middle class development within Santa Fe. There were some problems with the contracted building company, but those builders were fired and new ones are contracted with Homewise instead (I guess the previous builders were loud while working or something). It seems another reviewer was annoyed by the building company, and decided to take it out on Homewise instead (it must be nice to have so few substantial problems that temporary construction noise is the worst living conditions you can imagine!). Our home is in Aldea, and I can assure you that the 'living conditions' here are very comfortable-- it is unusually quiet, the stars are bright every night, well-manicured parks, speedbumps, clean water and air, and we are raising children here knowing they will grow up in a safe (if slow and uneventful) neighborhood.
