Seret and Sons is a unique destination for high end furnishings, carpets and art. I highly recommend this establishment. The service and care I have received has been outstanding.
Unfortunately, last year my 83 year old Father fell ill while traveling thru Sante Fe. Ira and his staff arranged for us to stay at their hotel - right on the spot. Our room had everything my dad could want and more!! They called to check on him as well. They took very good care of us during this medical crisis.
The wow factor and amazement quickly dissipated and I suddenly had a deep feeling of remorse. I walked out of there feeling I just had gone to a funeral.
I look forward every summer to traveling to Sante Fe and shopping at Seret and Sons and of course seeing Ira and Himal. I have customed ordered many things, left with my car completely full and have never had an issue throughout the years. Just this month - I customed ordered many items and arranged to have some items brought to me by their freight company.
I have friends that run an import business and even they think something is up.
I gave it 2 stars -because I just don’t know?! But something in my gut feels this is wrong. Use your own judgment. Do some research -

Stunning selection of doors, ironwork, tapestry and furnishings - worth a visit just to see the architectural richness.
At first I loved the place... then I realized the sheer volume of product they had. Things that should be in a museum or restored in their rightful country are just sitting in their basement slowly rotting away in the dark or weathering outside. I found out through conversation that most of their product is from war torn countries. Also they have really large pieces inlaid with ivory( which I’m almost positive is illegal to re-sell) Weather it was obtained legally is questionable- thus the very strict no photo policy? The gentleman I talked to was very kind and informative so nothing against him or the employees.
Wonderful to look around and see all the treasures. No photos allowed, keep that in mind while checking things out.
I once read that when you are designing a room you should always add at least one oriental element of design. I lived in Japan for 5-years so I have more than one oriental element in most of my rooms.
I really really want to love this place because there inventory is unbelievably detailed and beautiful but I just can’t.
