TERRIBLE - after 2 hours of painstaking work on the computers getting a document ready to print, it wouldn't print, the guy working there acted like I was bothering him when trying to get him to do his job, played with his phone, halfheartedly tried to help me, didn't know what he was doing, ended up losing my work, was rude to other customers, and basically acted like he didn't care and we should stop bothering him - an extremely frustrating experience - awful place - no wonder they actually have a security guard there, because they are so bad people probably want to go postal there all the time.. I know I did
We love Santa Fe's libraries, especially the children's areas. We attend storytime every week now, after graduating from Books and Babies. There are always great books and age appropriate crafts - and lots of special events for families! A great, FREE activity that we enjoy doing together.
I've gone to this place ever since I was a toddler and they loved me, I'm not sure what happened between then and now, but as a teenager, they denied me access to their public space, because I was a teenager. They were also surprisingly disrespectful about it too. I'm honestly disappointed with them because I loved going and checking out books. But now I'm afraid to go in because I don't know if they will rudely refuse service.
An great library located in the heart of Santa Fe, a block or so from the Plaza. The book collection is substantial. I generally use the number of secondary texts of Shakespeare as my guide and the SF Library has a nice collection. Note there is a two hour max on using the library computers to access the internet. Otherwise, there is plenty of seating with nice views, plugs everywhere, and fast wi-fi. There are a couple of reading rooms, the best and quietest being the deep wood paneled room that houses the Southwest collection. It's wonderful to see how active and vital this library is as a gathering place for the downtown community, old men and woman reading papers from around the country, parents showing their kids around, the internet computers are almost always occupied, younger people reading for hours, homeless people listening to music or reading magazines.
Friend and I were both able to find something interesting to read for an hour. Wish there were more display type sections but overall it was a good time.
A lot of options, really cool entrance. Confusing smell? Like lemons and grandmothers?
