I loved visiting Dumont Maps and Books while on a recent trip to Santa Fe. The store specializes in Western Americana and as I was was far from home I wanted to take something back with me from the region. It is a small store and everything is beautifully shelved and in beautiful condition. Nothing here with pages missing or falling out of its binding. Of course the prices are set accordingly, but there were still a few books in my price range (see my profile). The owner couldn't have been nicer, leaving me to browse even the rarest volumes and allowing me to handle some books whose age and presentation (and price !) was breathtaking. I bought myself a copy of Thirty Three Years Among Wild Indians (1883), containing some unique color lithographs. If you want to visit a store unique to the region, go to Dumont.
