I would recommend him highly. He is known in the Santa Fe area and beyond as THE place for fine detailing. I have always found him personable, fair, and straightforward.
His most notable work was done on my 66 Pontiac Tempest convertible - my prize vehicle, naturally. I originally paid another business to do the metal work and paint in a full restoration. The paint work turned out to be miserably inadequate. Lance did wonders with the surface. It is amazing, and people seem to feel the need to touch it to believe their eyes....the only drawback to his beautiful work.

I have been working with Lance Sones at High Desert Detail for over three years. He has detailed 3 of my vehicles, and applied Opti-coat to two of them. His detail work goes so far beyond simple "cleaning" that it's hard to mention in the same sentence. The work that he done has always been thorough, exacting, and on schedule.
So far so good! Will update of course but Lance is very professional but more importantly knowledgeable about the intricate details of car detailing. I am going with his Opticoat pro plus for clear protection. I expect it to be perfect and from the photos of others cars I have no doubt my expectations will be exceeded. Plus he warranties his work!
This is my go-to place for auto detailing. They are quick, honest, clean, and do a great job. After my Volvo was detailed there for a sale, I hardly wanted to sell it anymore -- it looked that good!
