We appreciated the attention we and our dog were given. Everyone was professional and competent and also compassionate and understanding. Just what you need in an emergency situation.
If your animal is in critical condition expect to pay 1,400 for test, blood work, IV, examination, x-ray, overnight care(?), and non- surgical treatment. If you can not afford to pay "care credit" is an option, granted you qualify. This can be disheartening during a time of distress but it is the norm for animal emergency care.
Excellent care!
*Like any business they will expect a deposit upfront. This will ensure staff will get paid for their time, and efforts.
The majority of the reviews here are not fair. It's expensive to keep a place open with a minimum of a vet and two techs on the clock during a time period when you only see a handful of patients. And yes, service may be poor. That's because the "secretary" is a vet tech and her priority may be a patient, not you. I brought my dog in with a very large gash (about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long) in his side going down to his abdomen. He left with 10 staples and 4 sutures. They were completely transparent with what was going to happen and how much it was going to cost. And yes, it cost about 50% more than it would have at my local vet, but that's the cost of on demand after hours care.
Took our pup in and they were amazing. Answered all our questions and checked him out real good. Little guy is already doing better. For an emergency vet after hours, the prices were very reasonable and they did not try to push any procedures, etc on us. Hopefully don't ever have to return again, but if another pet emergency does come up I know where to go.
I went to the Santa Fe Animal Emergency after my poodle was attacked by a pit bull. I originally went to my local vet only to be sent home with a 1,388 bill and a dog in cardiac distress. Out of fear and panic I drove 30 miles to have my dog seen at SF Animal emergency. Within seconds upon arriving the vet tech gently picked her up and took her back for examination and oxygen. Minutes later the compassionate doctor came back to discuss treatment, price, and rate of survival. The cost was expected to be expensive due to the serious trauma sustained. We were original told to put down my sweet Bella, but Lord knows that was not an option.
They were extremely nice and helpful. Very informative and I greatly appreciate all they did to help me with little baby dog. The people there were very straight forward about everything that could happen and explaining all the fees.
