Business is extremely unprofessional. They lie and use fraud to get signatures from potential customers. Tom Jenson (General Manager) blames customers when he receives a valid complaint, doesn't take responsibility for his associates illegal activity. James Robacker (Sales Associate) will lie to you and in order to get your authorization to run your credit. He says its because they have to verify your identity to prevent identity theft. Don't trust anyone that works here. Go elsewhere for your car purchasing needs.
On 11/10/2017, seeing as it was Veteran's Day weekend, I knew there were deals going on all over for Veteran's of the US Military so I visited this dealership to purchase a vehicle. I met with James Robacker (sales associate) and let him know I was pre-approved for auto financing through Navy Federal Credit Union. The associate knew that I had financing already and I explained to him I did not have the need to look for further financing options. When we sat down with him to go over the numbers for the purchase, James told me that in order to purchase a vehicle from their dealership that they had to run my credit to "verify my identity and prevent identity theft." I told them I didn't want them to run my credit due to the fact I already had financing, and the sales associate told me that I had no choice if I wanted to purchase a vehicle. So under false pretenses they fraudulently got me to sign the form authorizing him to run my credit. I later found out that this was a lie and I was then a victim of fraud by their dealership. I contacted the General Manager at the dealership (Tom Jenson) and told him about what happened and he passed the blame to me. He told me that I was a grown man and if I didnt want to sign the form, I didnt have to. He said that his employee did nothing wrong and he has never had a complaint regarding his associate before. When I asked him what he was going to do to resolve the issue of fraud from his dealership, he said that he had my signature and thats all he needed so his dealership did nothing wrong. He never offered a resolution to his business' illegal activity. If this was handled differently they could have had a customer out of me and I could have returned to purchase another vehicle. Based on their handling of this situation, I will never buy a vehicle from any Garcia Automotive dealership.
