My calls were returned promptly and my appointments were scheduled in a timely manner. I am baffled as to why people were so negative about Dr. Wengs.
I have been seeing Dr.Wengs for over 15 years for dystonia after a friend of mine referred me to him. He has always been very professional, caring and a wonderful doctor. I travel from Albuquerque to Santa Fe just so I can continue to have him as my doctor. I am not sure what the other reviewers are talking about, I never have any problems with getting an appointment or being called back.
I found Dr. Wengs to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything fully and answered all my questions in great detail.
I wasn't looking for a warm fuzzy experience. I wanted a well trained, highly educated expert in neurology and got exactly that.
I personally had a great experience with this Dr. He was patient in answering all my questions and took the time to explain things to my understanding. Very calm and mild mannered. I honestly don't know why people gave 1 star.
Wengs was an absolute ass! At the time, before Obamacare, I was sent to him by my primary care. He ran all the tests then told me I have a dangerous brain condition that requires intensive surgery. "But because you don't have insurance there is nothing i can do for you. So call me when you get insurance." Then he stuck his business card in my hand & literally put his hand on my back & gave me a push out of his office & then walked away. In the parking lot I torn his card to shreds & threw it on on ground. Later I got a bill for the visit for over $300. I went in & paid & the receptionist asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment. Not on your life! Now that I do have insurance I've been treated by other doctors who actually CARE about me & my health & didn't want to rush into a brain surgery, trying non-invasive care first. I would never go back to see Wengs ever again.
Poor Excuse for a Neurologist. I would go elsewhere for competent, and compassionate care.
